Visit to Vellore Golden Temple

I post about my outings here simply because i can read it later and relive the moments i had in my lyf. So here we go. One more outing wid my friends. This time only 3 ppl including me.

y this trip -

It was our friend’s engagement at a place called “Polur” which is some one and half hours from Vellore, a total of 6 hours travel from Bangalore.

Phase 1 – Planning :

As usual we needed to plan for the trip. Engagement on sunday, till friday evening, none of us were sure of attending it. Also sanjay(Ofcourse its me ) wanted to go to the “Golden temple” at vellore, only on that condition he will attend the function. Condition was met easily as the other two readily agreed. Wid out a group chat, planning is never complete !! We did put a 3 member chat to decide how we go, when to start etc. It was planned like this, book for sunday morning 7:30 bus and meet at office entrance at 6:15. “Sunday morning at 6 lam too much da” tats wat everyone of us felt. But since we heard that temple will be too crowded, it will take a minimum of 3 hours there (Wrong info given by one of the members of the chat – “she”), so finally we buked bus at 7:30 to vellore.
Remember this was our final plan – Meet at office 6:15, Bus to vellore at 7:30, Reach by 12, have lunch, visit temple, start from vellore at 5 to polur, attend function, Reach vellore before 11:15 at night as we booked bus to bangalore at 11:30, reach bangalore on monday early morning 4:30, sleep, Office at 11. Nice planning na. Let me now tell how we executed it ..

Phase 2 – Ideal Start :

I had additional job of waking up one of the persons at 5:30. Gud that “he” replied back to my first msg itself saving me one call :p . We both came sharp at 6:20 near our office. Engapa moonavathu member?? Third member is a “she” . I told him that it was she who said the time the previous night and that she will make it for sure. so we waited. It was 6:35. Both messaged to her. No replies. Again waited. Now we called. Call dint go at all. aahaaaa aaapaaa !!.. sunday kaalela aaru maniku office munnadi rendu perum enna panrathunu theriyama polambikitu irunthom. It was 7:15 already. And there was no chance of catching the bus we booked. vada poche !!! But still we wanted to go out somewhere atleast as our sleep was disturbed already. We dint give up, somehow we called one more friend and asked “she” to get back to us soon. (Mobile beep) (One new message).. hey call me. i slept off. sorry …. i stared at him, he stared me, both stared at the message – plan panni kavuthutalo?? but no.. We never wanted to drop our plan. She agreed to be in bus stop by 8 and promptly she came :p (athan book panna bus poche… ) We thought of some alternative way of reaching vellore, madivala-hosur-vellore. And finally we reached by 1:00. Definitely not late.

Phase 3 – Vellore Golden Temple :

we had our lunch and got one more bus to the temple. it was 42 degrees. There was not much crowd and we entered the temple with assistance from one stranger who helped us to get in the Q. After seeing the place i felt it was more of a park rather than a temple. The atmosphere and ambience was gud with lawns,trees everywhere, but there was no feeling of a temple. It was just a big size park and in middle of it was a golden shrine and goddess inside (engenthu ivalavu panam?? hmmm .. ) . Mobile and camera was not allowed. So not even one pic we could take. so simply we roamed. It was four and time to move on.

Phase 4 – The engagament :

From vellore it was 1.5 hr travel. Full standing and bus was overflowing. Intha koduma porathunu, a movie with full sound was going inside the bus. Finally we reached the place of the function. It was like we were totally drained out and no energy in us at all after the full day travel under the scorching sun. Function went well , had our dinner and we need to get back to Vellore by 11:15. It was 9:00. Return travel from that village to vellore also same kodumai, heavy rush, standing. But this time one more extra – Vetaikaran clips was going on. Mudila… atalst we boarded the final bus to bangalore which we booked at 11:30. Got home by 5 and thus ended our trip. But the trip was awesome. Everyone of us enjoyed thou it was tiresome.

“Well Begun is half the job done” – nothing like that. Bad begnining also makes it fun. We did have fun.

PS: I got high fever and dint go to office on thursday. After effects of that trip felt after 3 days !!
